Fit tips for holidays

Hey babes! For many, summertime brings vacations! I am often asked how to stay on track during holidays, so I wanted to share with you some of my thoughts and fit tips for traveling!

1. DITCH THE GUILT!

First and foremost, I believe holidays and vacations are meant to be just that – a BREAK and a vacation from the hustle and bustle of normal life. It is 100% okay to take time off from your regular training. For me, the focus of a holiday is making memories and enjoying quality time with my loved ones, not my eating and exercise.

2. STAY ACTIVE!

Whether or not you choose to take a break from your training on holiday, you can always stay active by enjoying different activities! Things such as hiking, playing on the beach with your kids, or even just walking around and seeing the sights are all great ways to get a little cardio while enjoying yourself. Remaining active even with just some daily LISS can help you keep your energy up and make it easier to jump back into your training when you get home.

3. EAT INTUITIVELY!

I used to believe that a holiday or vacation was just a free-for-all, eat AS MUCH CRAP AS POSSIBLE. I love treats and I LOVE treating myself on holidays, but now I also make healthy choices. This is simply because I finally realized that when I eat clean the majority of the time, I FEEL so much better. Now when we go on a trip, I don’t restrict anything I want and definitely indulge more than usual, but I also make sure to still eat nourishing foods as well. This gives me more energy to enjoy myself and my vacation enables me to do the things I want to do without feeling sluggish or sick to my stomach.

4. STAY HYDRATED!

Last but not least, drink your water! Especially if you are out in the sun, it is so easy to get dehydrated. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water along with whatever other food and drinks you choose to enjoy. ☺

I absolutely LOVE to travel! Remember to first and foremost enjoy every second of your vacations and focus on what really matters. It is all about living a healthy LIFEstyle and taking breaks and indulging on occasion is good for you. ;)

Xx
